An officer from the Westport Police Department on patrol at approximately 4:45 p.m. on June 20 stopped Bridgeport resident Luis Polanco-Guzman, when he committed a vehicle and traffic law violation while traveling eastbound on Allen Raymond Lane.
During the subsequent traffic stop, police found that Polanco-Guzman was unable to provide the officer with a valid registration or insurance for the vehicle. It was also determined that Polanco-Guzman’s license had been suspended, and he was in possession of brass knuckles.
Polanco-Guzman was arrested at the scene and charged with illegal operation of a motor vehicle with a suspended license, failure to have insurance coverage, misuse of license plates and operating an unregistered vehicle.
He was also charged with illegally possessing a weapon in a vehicle. Following arraignment, Polanco-Guzman was released on $2,000 bond. He is due in Norwalk Justice Court on June 27 to answer the charges.
